Celebrex (Celecoxib) is an non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain, inflammation, and joint pain caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute lower back pain. It works by blocking the production of certain substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation. Celebrex is often prescribed to people who have heart failure, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
Celebrex is also used to reduce the risk of osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) in patients with a uterus who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It works by blocking the activity of enzymes in the body that cause pain and inflammation, which reduces the risk of future pain.
Celebrex should be used with caution in patients with heart failure, high blood pressure, liver disease, or kidney disease. It may be prescribed as an alternative to other pain relievers such as ibuprofen or aspirin. It may also be used for other indications, such as joint pain, arthritis, or inflammation in adults.
Before starting Celebrex, tell your doctor if you have ever had liver disease, heart problems, stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, or had a stroke. Also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib, celecoxib + ibuprofen), other analgesics (e.g., diclofenac), other anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., leflunomide), anti-platelet drugs (e.g., citric acid, ibuprofen, indomethacin), or any other drugs that you take to lower your chance of bleeding or ulcers.
Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications or if you have stopped taking them: aspirin; phenylketonuria; ketorolac; or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): diclofenac, ibuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
Celebrex is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, ankylosing infections, and acute lower back pain.
Celebrex is indicated for the treatment of pain related to rheumatoid arthritis. It may be used alone or in combination with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Celebrex may also be used for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute lower back pain, or rheumatoid arthritis.
Celebrex should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration. It may be used as an alternative to aspirin or other NSAIDs in patients with stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, or heart failure.
It is not known whether celecoxib is better at reducing pain than ibuprofen or other NSAIDs, and it may not be better than other NSAIDs. Patients taking NSAIDs should avoid contact with other drugs that cause pain (such as aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or with other medicines that can cause pain (such as aspirin or other NSAIDs).
Celebrex may be used alone or in combination with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Celebrex may also be used for the treatment of pain caused by a painful or inflammatory condition.
Celebrex should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver disease, kidney disease, stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, or heart failure.
Celebrex is composed of two active ingredients, Celecoxib and diclofenac. The inactive ingredients are acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), diethylammonium chloride (DAF), diethylamine (DEA), purified water, sodium benzoate, and water.
